my recent project
These cherries are easy and fun to make. I used my favourite 0.75mm hook and size 8 crochet cotton thread.
Here are few photos of the process:
The green stem/leaf part is made as one piece in 5 steps
Step 1: chain 22, slip stitch in second chain from hook and slip stitch in each of next chains across
Step 2: make a first leaf: ch13, sc into second ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in each of next 2 sts, dc in each of next 3 sts, hdc in each of next2 sts, sc in next st and make 4sc into next st (2 from one side and 2 from opposite side), continue on the opposite side: sc in next st, hdc in each of next 2 sts, dc in each of next 3 sts, hdc in each of next 2 sts, sc in next, skip a st and ss into first sc of a round; ch1 and ss through the central part across the leaf; finally, ss around (in the back loop only) the edge, making ch2 on tip of leaf
Step 3: make a loop: ch12, ss into second ch from hook and ss in each of next 9 ch across; join with ss to form a loop, ss
Step 4: make the other leaf: again ch 13 and repeat the steps of the first leaf
Step 5: finish the stem: ch19, ss into second and ss in each across; fasten off, weave in loose ends
Red berry (make 2): crochet in continuous spiral, stuff as you go
