US crochet terms
ch=chain, ss=slip stitch, st=stitch, sc=single crochet, 2sc=inc=increase

size 8 crochet cotton thread, 0.75mm hook

Petals:  with white, make a magic ring
*ch5, ss into second ch from hook, ss in next 3 and ss into magic ring* 15 times
Fasten off


Central part: with yellow, make a magic ring, work in rounds
1.  9sc into magic ring (9)
2. ch1, sc in each st around (9)
Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing (attach to petals with the wrong side facing you)

Stem: with green, make a magic ring, work in continuous spiral
1. 4sc into magic ring (4)
2. sc in each st around (4)
3.-18. repeat round 2. 
19. 2sc in 1st st, 2sc in each of next 2sts and sc in last st (7)
20. sc in 1st st, *2sc in next st, sc in next st* twice, 2sc in each of next 2sts, join with ss  (11)
Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing

    This pattern was just what I needed! I made only 12 petals per flower because I was using size 10 thread and a size 7 steel hook.

    I made two pair of earrings as gifts for friends. I improvised a different yellow center because I wanted to sew them down on both sides of the flower. That made them basically reversible and therefore pretty even when viewed from the back. I used plain, gold-toned fish hook earring findings.
    In gratitude for this lovely pattern, I’ll eventually post my photos on Ravelry, Pinterest, and Instagram.
